Some things bloom in the garden.
Some things apparently claw their way back out of it. 😂
Our Zombie Hand Garden Stake was made for the gardener who likes a little creepy mixed in with the hydrangeas.
With its long crooked fingers, curled nails, skeletal wrist details and clawing-from-the-earth silhouette, this piece looks like something just beneath the flower bed finally decided it had waited long enough.
Tuck it into a garden bed, porch planter, pumpkin display or Halloween graveyard scene and suddenly the whole garden has a story.
Maybe somebody was buried there.
Maybe somebody should not have been.
Maybe the hydrangeas know more than they are telling.
Either way, this one brings exactly the right amount of eerie without losing that old-garden, storybook feel we love around here.
THE DETAILS
• Zombie hand body measures approximately 8 inches tall
• Welded to a 12-inch garden stake
• Approximately 20 inches overall height
• Precision CNC plasma cut from 14-gauge steel
• Welded and finished by hand
• Designed for garden beds, porch planters, landscape displays and Halloween scenes
• Available in Raw Steel or our Rusted Finish
• Handmade to order in our Michigan shop
Each piece is created from real steel and finished by hand, so slight variations in surface and patina are part of the character of the piece.
CHOOSE YOUR FINISH
RAW STEEL
Raw Steel is bare, unsealed steel.
There is no paint, clear coat or protective finish applied.
Once placed outside, it will react naturally with air, rain, moisture and humidity and begin developing patina and rust. Depending on your environment, that process can happen quickly.
We leave it that way intentionally.
The garden gets to finish the story.
Over time, the surface will darken, shift and develop the natural weathered character that only real steel can create.
RUSTED FINISH
Our Rusted Finish is real rust.
It is not painted on. It is not powder coated to imitate rust.
We begin the oxidation process here in our shop using apple cider vinegar, salt and peroxide, encouraging the steel to develop those rich, earthy tones before it leaves us.
The piece is intentionally left unsealed, which means the rust will continue to deepen, change and evolve outdoors over time.
Every piece will weather a little differently.
That is not a flaw.
That is the point.
FOR THE GARDEN THAT LIKES TO MISBEHAVE
This one belongs in the places where the garden already feels a little wild.
Between hydrangeas that have gone papery for fall.
Along a dark garden path.
Beside a pile of white pumpkins.
Inside a porch planter where somebody has to look twice before realizing what is reaching through the flowers.
It is creepy, playful and just weird enough to become the thing everyone notices first.
And yes, it works beautifully for Halloween.
But if you are the kind of person who would leave a zombie hand in the garden year-round, we are probably already your people.
PERFECT FOR
• Halloween garden decor
• Graveyard yard displays
• Spooky porch planters
• Haunted garden themes

FROM OUR DIRT ROAD TO YOURS
The Dirt Road Gardener is a family-owned small business in Kimball, Michigan, making steel garden accents for people who believe their gardens should have a little personality.
Sometimes that personality is charming.
Sometimes it is whimsical.
And apparently sometimes it is a rusty hand clawing its way out of the flower bed. 😂👋👻
