Because every piece begins as real steel and is finished by hand, slight variations are natural and part of what makes each one feel like its own piece rather than something stamped out by the thousands.

CHOOSE YOUR FINISH

RAW STEEL

Our Raw Steel finish is exactly what it sounds like — genuine bare steel with no paint, clear coat or sealant added.

Left outdoors, the steel will naturally begin to develop patina and rust as it reacts with moisture, humidity and the surrounding atmosphere.

Depending on where you live, that transformation may begin rather quickly.

That is part of the beauty of raw steel: the garden gets to help finish the piece.

Over time, the surface will deepen, change and take on a character all its own.

RUSTED FINISH

Our Rusted Finish is real rust — never painted-on faux rust and never powder coated to imitate it.

We begin the oxidation process by hand using apple cider vinegar, salt and peroxide, encouraging the steel to develop those rich, earthy rust tones before it ever leaves our shop.

We intentionally leave that finish unsealed.

That means your cat will continue to weather, darken, rust and evolve outdoors over time, becoming more naturally aged with every season she spends in the garden.

No two rusted pieces will ever age in exactly the same way — and we think that is exactly how it should be.

Every Dirt Road Gardener piece is handmade to order in our family shop.

We precision cut the design from steel, clean it, weld the stake and finish the piece specifically for your order.

Please allow 7–10 business days for production before shipment.

We are not pulling mass-produced garden decor from a warehouse shelf.

Your piece is being made for you.

SHIPPING

Orders ship by UPS Ground whenever UPS service is available to your address.

In the occasional situation where an address cannot be serviced through UPS, we may ship using USPS Ground instead.

Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.

RETURNS, REFUNDS & ORDER ISSUES

Because every piece is handmade to order and created specifically for your purchase, we do not accept returns or issue refunds for change-of-mind purchases.

If your item arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect piece, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

We will review the situation with you and work together toward an appropriate resolution.
