A little woodland scene, from every side

One tall evergreen rises above two smaller trees, surrounded by small round accents and topped with a little star. This matching scene is cut into all four steel sides, giving the luminary its woodland character from multiple viewing angles. Every tree, star, and dot is a genuine cut-through opening—not a painted shape or a backing. Place it beside a cabin doorway, at the edge of a garden path, or near a porch planter filled with evergreen branches. Dress it for Yuletide with pinecones and a wreath, then let the forest motif carry your outdoor display through winter and beyond.

A lasting steel body with a replaceable solar light

The luminary has an open bottom and a custom flush-mounted top cap fitted to its inside dimensions and welded into the steel body. The included solar-powered light drops into an opening in that fitted lid. The cap stays in place; the light itself is not welded in. You can remove and replace the lighting component if it becomes damaged or eventually wears out, keeping the steel luminary as your long-term decorative piece.

Display where the solar panel can receive sunlight. Light output and operating time depend on charging and display conditions; decorative imagery does not guarantee a particular brightness or projected pattern.

Choose your finish

Raw: Raw steel as it comes from the steel mill, cleaned before shipment but otherwise unfinished and unsealed. It is not painted, coated, or protected. It will naturally oxidize and develop rust and patina over time; the speed and appearance vary with weather, humidity, atmosphere, handling, and display conditions.

Rusted — The Dirt Road Gardener signature hand-rusted finish: Genuine rust, not paint, faux rust, powder coating, or a printed finish. We begin the rusting process by hand using ordinary household ingredients including vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and salt, then intentionally leave the steel unsealed so it can keep aging naturally. Color, texture, and rust patterns vary from piece to piece and will continue to deepen and change.

Unsealed rust may transfer to hands, clothing, walls, flooring, furniture, or other surfaces it touches. Protect surrounding surfaces as needed. If you love the patina exactly as it arrives and want to slow further oxidation, you may choose to apply an appropriate clear protective coating after receiving it. Each luminary is handmade to order according to your selected specifications. Standard production takes 7–10 business days; carrier transit time is additional. Shipping is free. We use UPS whenever it can deliver to your physical address; if UPS cannot service your address, we may use USPS instead.

Returns, refunds, and order concerns

Because our pieces are handmade to order and produced according to customer-selected specifications, returns and refunds are not accepted. If your order arrives damaged, is incorrect, or fails to arrive, please contact The Dirt Road Gardener within 7 days so we can review the situation and work toward an appropriate resolution together. Resolution depends on the situation; an automatic refund is not promised.
