A woodland view on all four sides

Slender birch trunks rise through the steel, with branching limbs, bark-inspired markings, and small scattered accents. The same birch tree design is cut into all four sides, so the woodland scene can be enjoyed from multiple viewing angles. The open areas are genuine cut-through spaces—not white paint or a solid backing—with illumination coming from the included solar light inside.

At 32 inches tall, this single luminary makes a welcoming accent beside porch seating, a cabin entry, or a woodland garden path. Nestle it near mums and pumpkins in autumn, then surround it with evergreen boughs and pinecones for Yuletide. Its simple tree motif belongs just as naturally beside hostas and ferns when the garden wakes again.

A lasting steel body with a replaceable solar light

The luminary has an open bottom and a custom flush-mounted top cap fitted to its inside dimensions and welded into the steel body. The included solar-powered light drops into an opening in that fitted lid. The cap stays in place; the light itself is not welded in. You can remove and replace the lighting component if it becomes damaged or eventually wears out, keeping the steel luminary as your long-term decorative piece.

Display where the solar panel can receive sunlight. Light output and operating time depend on charging and display conditions; decorative imagery does not guarantee a particular brightness or projected pattern.

Choose your finish

Raw: Raw steel as it comes from the steel mill, cleaned before shipment but otherwise unfinished and unsealed. It is not painted, coated, or protected. It will naturally oxidize and develop rust and patina over time; the speed and appearance vary with weather, humidity, atmosphere, handling, and display conditions.

Rusted — The Dirt Road Gardener signature hand-rusted finish: Genuine rust, not paint, faux rust, powder coating, or a printed finish. We begin the rusting process by hand using ordinary household ingredients including vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and salt, then intentionally leave the steel unsealed so it can keep aging naturally. Color, texture, and rust patterns vary from piece to piece and will continue to deepen and change.

Unsealed rust may transfer to hands, clothing, walls, flooring, furniture, or other surfaces it touches. Protect surrounding surfaces as needed. If you love the patina exactly as it arrives and want to slow further oxidation, you may choose to apply an appropriate clear protective coating after receiving it. Each luminary is handmade to order according to your selected specifications. Standard production takes 7–10 business days; carrier transit time is additional. Shipping is free. We use UPS whenever it can deliver to your physical address; if UPS cannot service your address, we may use USPS instead.

Returns, refunds, and order concerns

Because our pieces are handmade to order and produced according to customer-selected specifications, returns and refunds are not accepted. If your order arrives damaged, is incorrect, or fails to arrive, please contact The Dirt Road Gardener within 7 days so we can review the situation and work toward an appropriate resolution together. Resolution depends on the situation; an automatic refund is not promised.
