Tall BELIEVE lettering runs alongside a long-bearded Santa dressed in a fur-trimmed coat and stocking cap. His lantern, the rabbit, berry sprigs, snowy ground, and a slender evergreen create a woodland scene with the nostalgic character of an old Christmas illustration.

The lettering and illustrated openings are cut through the steel, allowing the wall or scenery behind the piece to show through. They are not white paint, printed artwork, or a backing panel. Santa’s lantern is part of the cutout design; the sign does not include lighting.

Lean it beside your front door with a weathered bucket of evergreen branches, mount it near a cottage entry bench, or hang it beside a covered porch post using suitable hardware of your own. Pinecones, berry stems, an old wooden sled, and a favorite plaid blanket make natural companions for its primitive Christmas character.

This piece is especially suited to primitive Santa collectors, woodland Christmas decorators, and those who love a cozy farmhouse or cabin porch. It also makes a thoughtful handmade gift for someone who treasures the quieter, story-filled side of Christmas.

Choose your finish

Raw
Raw steel as it comes from the steel mill, cleaned before shipment but otherwise unfinished and unsealed. It will naturally oxidize and develop rust or patina over time. Humidity, weather, handling, atmosphere, and display location influence how quickly it ages and how that patina appears.

Rusted — The Dirt Road Gardener’s signature hand-rusted finish
Our Rusted finish is genuine rust, started by hand using ordinary household ingredients including vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and salt. It is not paint, faux rust, powder coating, or a printed finish.

The steel is intentionally left unsealed so it can continue naturally rusting and developing a deeper patina. Variations in color, texture, and rust pattern are expected and are part of the character of genuine weathered steel.

Rust may transfer to hands, clothing, walls, flooring, furniture, or other surfaces it contacts. Please consider surrounding surfaces when choosing your display location. If you love the appearance as it arrives and want to help slow continued oxidation, you may choose to apply an appropriate clear protective coating after receiving it.

Flat Black
A flat black finish gives the stars, lettering, and woodland Santa scene a bold presence against lighter backgrounds. Pair it with cream ribbons, natural wood, and evergreen foliage for a simple, nostalgic Christmas display.
