Hot Cider Dreams & Chippy Coffee Bars: Why It’s Time to Revive the Corner
Share
Every now and then, you scroll past something on Pinterest that doesn’t just catch your eye — it calls you out. That was this week’s Scroll Stopper moment, thanks to a cozy little cider bar pin by Deborah Breedlove. I wasn’t looking for coffee bar inspiration, but the moment I saw her perfectly imperfect chippy white cabinet and autumn-ready display, I knew… it’s time.

We’ve been remodeling our home one space at a time since 2021. Living in the mess while you renovate? Not for the faint of heart. We’ve tackled the kitchen, porch, living room, dining space, my office, and every garden bed from here to the back 40 (because let’s be honest — those never stay “done”). But one area I’ve ignored far too long is the coffee bar. And y’all… it shows.

That little black cabinet in the corner? It has a history — built by my dad for his first home. I’ve repurposed it over the years, but it’s landed here now, holding mugs and caffeine with zero personality. There’s a wreath, a tobacco basket, a basket of dog toys, and a trash can too close for comfort. It doesn’t feel intentional. It doesn’t feel like me.
But Deborah’s pin sparked something. The styling, the vertical height with floating shelves, the warm fall tones and primitive accents — it gave this corner a vision. A soul. A makeover plan.
Here’s what I’m dreaming up now:
-
Floating shelves with vintage jars + coffee canisters
-
Hooks for seasonal mugs
-
A tin sign or chalkboard that reads “COFFEE BAR” or “FRESH BREWED”
-
A seasonal wreath that changes with the months
-
A pedestal tray for cinnamon rolls, cookies, or homemade muffins
-
Soft black, antique white, and natural wood tones
I may not go full chippy white like the inspiration, but the feeling? The warmth, the vertical styling, the cozy welcome? That’s the goal.
So here’s to giving love to the small spaces that serve us every day. To making your coffee bar feel like a morning hug. And to finding inspiration in the scroll — even when you didn’t know you were looking for it.
