September’s first golden leaves, October’s pumpkin-covered steps, November’s gathered company, and December’s evergreen welcome—all belong beside our BER Months Bird N Vine porch leaner. Two crested birds nestle among winding leaves and berries, alongside tall BER lettering and the word MONTHS below.

The details

Size: 48 inches tall × 10 inches wide

Material: 14- or 16-gauge steel

Finishes: Raw, Rusted, or Flat Black

Display: Leaning, mounting, or hanging

Mounting: Four pinholes, one in each corner

Hardware: No mounting or hanging hardware included

Production: Handmade to order in 7–10 business days

Shipping: Free; carrier transit time is additional

Price: $190 in your selected finish

The bird-and-berry vine brings a garden-inspired touch to this playful celebration of September, October, November, and December. Cut-through lettering and botanical openings let the wall or scenery behind the steel become part of the display. These are genuine openings, not a printed design or painted background.

Begin with mums and pumpkins beside the front door, then trade them for evergreen clippings, pinecones, and a favorite holiday wreath as the season changes. The sign stays while the little world around it moves from harvest gatherings to Christmas homecomings.

Lean it near a porch swing, mount it beside an entry bench, or hang it from suitable hardware near a covered porch post. Its birds and trailing vine feel especially at home on cottage, farmhouse, and woodland-inspired porches. It makes a thoughtful handmade gift for bird lovers, gardeners, and anyone whose favorite time of year begins with September.

Choose your finish

Raw
Raw steel as it comes from the steel mill, cleaned before shipment but otherwise unfinished and unsealed. It will naturally oxidize and develop rust or patina over time. Humidity, weather, handling, atmosphere, and display location all affect how quickly it ages and how that patina appears.

Rusted — The Dirt Road Gardener’s signature hand-rusted finish
Our Rusted finish is genuine rust, started by hand using ordinary household ingredients including vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and salt. It is not paint, faux rust, powder coating, or a printed finish.

The steel is intentionally left unsealed so it can continue naturally rusting and developing a deeper patina. Variations in color, texture, and rust pattern are expected and are part of the character of genuine weathered steel.

Rust may transfer to hands, clothing, walls, flooring, furniture, or other surfaces it contacts. Please consider surrounding surfaces when choosing your display location. If you love the appearance as it arrives and want to help slow continued oxidation, you may choose to apply an appropriate clear protective coating after receiving it.

Flat Black
A flat black finish brings a bold, simple presence to the lettering and bird-and-vine design. Pair it with pale pumpkins in autumn or cream ribbons and greenery for winter.

Have a change in mind?

If you love this design but would like something changed, adjusted, personalized, or slightly reworked, contact The Dirt Road Gardener before ordering.
