This one has a suspiciously cheerful reindeer, a toppled granny, and some explaining to do. Our Funny Poor Granny metal porch leaner adds a wink of holiday mischief to the greenery and twinkle lights—a conversation piece for the home where Christmas traditions always come with a little laughter.

The details

Size: 48 inches tall × 10 inches wide

Material: 14- or 16-gauge steel

Finishes: Raw, Rusted, or Flat Black

Display: Leaning, mounting, or hanging

Mounting: Four pinholes, one in each corner

Hardware: No mounting or hanging hardware included

Production: Handmade to order in 7–10 business days

Shipping: Free; carrier transit time is additional

Price: $190 in your selected finish

Vertical POOR GRANNY lettering runs beside a cartoon-style reindeer wearing a jingle-bell collar, with granny sprawled beneath him in a comical holiday mishap. Tall antlers and expressive character details give this design a playful personality that guests will notice on their way to the door.

The lettering and illustrated openings are cut through the steel, allowing the background behind the piece to show through. The design is not printed or painted onto a solid backing.

Lean it beside your front door with plaid ribbon and evergreen planters, mount it near a holiday entry bench, or hang it beside a covered porch post using suitable hardware of your own. Traditional Christmas greenery makes an especially fun contrast to the cheeky scene.

This piece suits rustic farmhouse porches, cozy cabin entries, and anyone who enjoys funny Christmas decorations alongside their sentimental favorites. It also makes a memorable gift for the holiday host—or the good-humored grandmother—who appreciates a little seasonal silliness.

Choose your finish

Raw
Raw steel as it comes from the steel mill, cleaned before shipment but otherwise unfinished and unsealed. It will naturally oxidize and develop rust or patina over time. Humidity, weather, handling, atmosphere, and display location influence how quickly it ages and how that patina appears.

Rusted — The Dirt Road Gardener’s signature hand-rusted finish
Our Rusted finish is genuine rust, started by hand using ordinary household ingredients including vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, and salt. It is not paint, faux rust, powder coating, or a printed finish.

We intentionally leave the steel unsealed so it can continue naturally rusting and developing a deeper patina. Variations in color, texture, and rust pattern are expected and are part of the character of genuine weathered steel.

Rust may transfer to hands, clothing, walls, flooring, furniture, or other surfaces it contacts. Please consider surrounding surfaces when choosing your display location. If you love the appearance as it arrives and want to help slow continued oxidation, you may choose to apply an appropriate clear protective coating after receiving it.

Flat Black
A flat black finish gives the lettering and comical reindeer scene a bold presence against lighter backgrounds. Pair it with cream accents, red plaid, and evergreen branches for a traditional Christmas setting with an unexpected sense of humor.

Have a change in mind?

If you love this design but would like something changed, adjusted, personalized, or slightly reworked, contact The Dirt Road Gardener before ordering.
